Acting is a life calling. It asks for an awareness of self and others unlike any other profession. Not only does it require understanding of yourself and those around you, as writing does--as an actor, you must be able to embody that understanding, to live out the experience in your own body. 

 

Yoga is uniquely capable of helping an actor open up to deeper access of themselves, both emotionally and physically.

An eight-week commitment to getting in touch with your awareness, the YOGA FOR ACTORS workshop will investigate each part of what is required of us as actors.

We will define practical tools and processes to help us get out of our own way as actors, and also ways in which we can use the practice to aid management of the risks, rejection, and rewards that come along with this wild profession. 

 

Eight-week workshop sessions will occur during weekday daytimes, and will be limited to ten students.
